In 2015, you can expect to be seeing a lot more of crochet.
Crochet?
Yes, Crochet is the thing grandmothers create little coasters with.
And yes, I used to cringe at anything crochet, and I still do - absolutely vile way of decorating - but let me show you how crochet swimwear changed my view on the technique forever.
As the world of swimwear has taken off, designers have had to become more creative and independant with their products. Patterned lycra and a few shiny beads doesn't cut it anymore, women seek a unique, eye catching design. Thus, causing desginers to look to alternitve and extensive ways to reach individuality. Individuality being the key to great success and recognition.
So why not Crochet?
Crochet swimwear is timeless. Not only is it vintage, it is such a versatile textile and therefore an increasingly unique and personal accessory.

Swimwear itself is becoming an increasingly versatile area of fashion. The designs can become as intricate or simple as you allow. Crochet swimwear has been seen in vintage stores as well as designer brands.
The first thing that comes to mind with yarn is, 'Won't it sag and stretch when you wear it in the water?' Surprisingly, no. The yarn used is thick and sturdy and is conventional and comfortable.
